If you assume 70% occupancy rate this means someone is sleeping in that bedroom 255 nights of the year and if the average stay is seven nights and the occupants are couples sharing the bed this works out to about 72 people sleeping in the same bed over a one year period.
Even with mattress protectors on the mattress - dead skin, dust, sweat and other organic fluids permeate through the mattress protector and in to the mattress making it the perfect breeding ground for dust mites, bacteria, viruses, germs and fungal spores to take hold and multiply.
With regular professional cleaning and sanitising this will minimise the risk of an unhealthy mattress and thereby resulting in happier guests, peace of mind for you the owner or manager of the property and a healthier work environment for the cleaners making the beds.

The average person can shed up to two kilograms of dry skin and dead skin cells every year.
On average people can spend about one third of their life in bed and the dead skin they shed sifts through the sheets and mattress protectors and goes deep into the mattress providing the perfect habitat for dust mites to live and breed.
Dust mites are invisible to the human eye and there can be up to 19,000 dust mites in one gram of dust.
Dust Mites excrete twice their body weight per day and this excrement is called GUANINE, which is one of the main allergen sources of all allergies and asthma causing people to wake up with red eyes, itchy throat, sneezing and hay fever.

Our Three Stage Cleaning Process
1. DRY EXTRACTION
We use a powerful piece of equipment especially designed for commercial mattress cleaning that uses high frequency pulsating waves and powerful suction to loosen and extract the dust mites and their waste, eggs, dead skin and dirt from the deepest parts of the mattress and captures them in an attached HEPA filter - a unique device that can eliminate 99.97 percent of airborne particles.
2. UV-C GERMICIDAL LIGHT BOX TREATMENT
We use a specially designed light box fitted with two commercial grade UV-C germicidal lights that are 90 to 120cm long. We put this light box in direct contact with every part of the mattress for at least 15 seconds ensuring the mattress receives the full effect of the UV-C germicidal lights. The UV-C lights provides short wave ultraviolet radiation that has a germicidal sanitising action, which deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses, fungal spores and dust mite eggs and thereby destroys them and their ability to multiply or reproduce and through this chemical free process the mattress becomes sanitised. These UV-C germicidal lights are the same lights that are used by hospitals for sterilisation and are also used in water purification processes. Please note that this process does not remove stains but instead it neutralises and kills the bacteria, viruses and germs that may exist within the stain and the mattress.
3. SANITISING SPRAY
As a final measure a specially designed non toxic anti-bacterial spray is misted over the entire mattress. This non-toxic spray, which is completely safe to humans will also leave a coating that neutralises bacteria and other allergens and helps keep dust mites and insects away for up to 2 months.
After each cleaning and sanitising treatment we provide you with a mattress health check report that will outline any damage detected that may need repair and alert you of any severe stains or mould that may be past the stage of treatment.
